The Caterpillar Lab

If you live in New England and enjoy learning about insects you NEED to go to The Caterpillar Lab in New Hampshire.

The staff there is so friendly and excited to share their vast wealth of insect knowledge! Seriously, their excitement about bugs was contagious!

Throughout the space, there are living insects at various stages of development that can be interacted with up close! Tiny specimens can be observed under microscopes. Even a tiny caterpillar who lives inside a leaf, eating it cell by cell... mind blown. The walls are covered in gorgeous, detailed photographs, giant textile caterpillars crawl throughout ( by Jenna Wingate Designs), and there is even an amazing needle felted caterpillar pin cushion complete with fungi pins!

I had the great pleasure of creating three large New England native moths for the space.

The Cecropia, Luna, and Polyphemus!
